About

Indonesian tenor William Prasetyo is based in London, where he completed a Master of Performance in Vocal Studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 2026.

In summer 2026 he sang Basilio and Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro at the Berlin Opera Academy. Other operatic work includes Count Danilo in scenes from Die lustige Witwe, and this autumn he joins Hampstead Garden Opera for Bellini’s La sonnambula. His voice sits most naturally in Mozart and the Classical repertoire, and he is equally drawn to oratorio and concert work.

William’s musical life began in choral singing. For eight years he was a member of Jakarta’s Batavia Madrigal Singers, with whom he won the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing in 2022. He also creates his own recital and recording projects across the UK and Indonesia, including Homecoming, a recital in Jakarta in March 2026.

Before devoting himself to music full time, William spent seven years leading digital projects in Jakarta’s business world, a path that gives him an unusually practical, collaborative approach to making music happen. He speaks English and Indonesian, and conversational Japanese.
